Yeah, this was one of those outfits. The Good Doctor did not want Emmy going to Happy Hollow in a tutu and fancy tank top, which by the way, were birthday gifts and some of the nicest clothes she owns. Granted, this is not my first choice of outfit for petting goats and climbing around a jungle gym. BUT, we were also planning to take some pumpkin patch photos, so I needed to make sure we had her in something other than stretch pants and a T-shirt, her standard uniform 360 days of the year. 

And she found her little headband herself, and actually wore it for 50% of the day. All in all, a success. I told her she looked like Suri Cruise and she happily said to The Good Doctor, "I look like Suri Cruise!" And skipped off onto some goat poop.

We stopped at the first pony pen we saw and waited for our turn, until a lady said, "This is for a private birthday party, but maybe you can go later," because there were only a couple kids riding the 6 ponies. So we waited a little longer and it turns out the lady was actually the birthday girl's mom. She offered to let Emmy ride and sure enough, she ended up on this cute lil pony named "Hot Shot."

We were actually really proud of Emmy for being so brave, not on Hot Shot, but with the handler who picked her up and carried her to the ponies. Our little girl is growin' up!

But at a friend's birthday party, she had a change of heart and decided she wanted a dinosaur painted on her cheek. And she sat still enough for a pretty good brontosaurus.

This time she spotted a teeny ladybug in the grass at Edgewood in Tahoe during the celeb golf tournament.

I've always thought ladybugs were good luck. 

But apparently not for gambling, as the Good Doctor lost miserably at Pai Gow.

The photo below cracks me up because it looks like Emmy has not only a ladybug on her blade of grass, but a full fledged lady too.

We tried some vogueing. "Become one with the Emmy, Emmy."

And finally, the victory pose!

Unlike her father, Emmy is a breakfast person. Does Eggo no longer make strawberry waffles? We've resorted to blueberry in the wake of this sudden shortage. Or, gasp, discontinuation!

I know it's not exactly the breakfast of champions but when you're in a pinch, a toasty waffle and some pure maple syrup comes in handy to keep toddler hands busy while you inject your diabetic dog with insulin.

Emmy discovered this excellent source of protein on the Bai Dai beach in Vietnam. We play up the whole, "Ooh Emmy, look it's a BABY EGG! Oooh yummy! Look how teeny tiny it is!!!" in our best, high pitched squeal. 

She learned to love 'em in Vietnam and now eats half a dozen at one sitting. Sorry quails.
